The Bulleen Park Sports Facilities Redevelopment forms part of the North East Link Program’s investment in local sporting infrastructure, delivered by Development Victoria.

The project includes the redevelopment of three AFL-standard sports ovals (including two cricket ovals), two new replacement pavilions, upgraded sports lighting, cricket nets and fencing, new indigenous tree planting and site revegetation, an upgraded playground and park amenities, and reconfigured car parking with improved pedestrian connectivity.

Set on the banks of the Yarra River on a former landfill site within a 5-metre-deep floodplain, the project demanded sophisticated civil, transport and waste engineering responses to severe environmental and geotechnical constraints. MCG Consult was engaged to provide civil, transport and waste engineering services across concept, detailed design and construction phases — supporting Development Victoria, Williams Ross Architects and Built Environs in delivering a resilient, community-focused sports precinct.
